Lynda.com pilot extended to June 30th, 2010
After all the great feedback we received from the IU community, the decision was made to extend the Lynda.com pilot to June 30th of 2010. That means that the IU community gets an extra 6 months of free Lynda.com access.
So please keep using the service and let us know how it works for you!

Hey i am having a few problems with Lynda, nothing big.
Just having problems displaying lynda videos, is it because my OS is in 64-bit???…

Hi Dave –
You may find this Indiana University Knowledge Base article helpful:
Essentially, it discusses issues with viewing lynda videos on 64-bit systems, and a workaround (essentially, installing a 32-bit version of the browser)

Any news on whether the agreement will be extended through the fall?
I have several people who are blown away by the Adobe agreement, and found the lynda agreement to be just that much more value added to the IU community; however, I’ve been reluctant to mention whether this will be extended.
Thanks!

Hi David. We’re in negotiations now, and we’re very hopeful it will be renewed, but we can’t say for sure right now. We’ll make an announcement on the status past June 30th as soon as we have something to announce.
Thanks for your interest.

I haven’t seen any info since the March 13th post. Is tomorrow the last day?

Bill, thanks for your comment. We have an extension approved, and are just dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s. We’ll have a full announcement soon, but for now, suffice it to say that Lynda will still be available after the 30th.

Great. Thanks for the update Andy. So I guess I don’t have to spend my whole day on Lynda.com today then, and can get other work done as well.
